Get to know Carolyn our newest member of the team.

Tell us a little more about you.

I was born and bred in Knutsford, my mum and dad had a long established butcher’s shop in the town.  My first ever job was working in a dress agency on a Saturday and then I was a lifeguard at my local swimming pool.  We have 5 amazing children 2 boys and 3 girls.  All are working and 3 of them have children of their own.  We have 6 grandsons, I make that a 5-a -side and a sub, with room for more!!.  We are so proud of all of our family and are also proud to say that we celebrated our Silver Wedding Anniversary last year.

I continued to work part-time whilst bringing the children up.  I worked as PA to the MD of Timberwise for 20 years, which funnily enough is in the building behind us here on Gadbrook Park.  During the pandemic, I realised that I needed to have a change and that is how I came to work for HWIFM.

Hobbies – what do you enjoy doing out of work?

I love to sew …. My motto is, “If it will fit under my machine, I will sew it”.  I have made all sorts of things over the years, from Wedding, bridesmaid’s and prom dresses, to curtains, roman blinds, soft furnishings and even trailer covers!

Favourite food and drink.

I like good old Steak, chips and peas.  I love an ice cold G&T, particularly sitting outside our caravan on a balmy summer evening (I know there aren’t many of those, but an ice cold G&T is great anywhere.

Your go to holiday destination 

We love to cruise, so at some point in the future, we would like to go on a Caribbean cruise.

One piece of advice you would give to your younger self

Don’t spend so much time worrying about things.  Problems usually resolve themselves and you can learn from them.
